Dear Church Family,
Summer is a time to get ourselves outside! I am preaching to the choir as I write this. However, I’ve realized that when I take the time to step away from the hustle and bustle of life, work, family and household responsibilities, and allow myself to just sit in nature, I always leave feeling refreshed. There is something about sitting in God’s creation that fills the soul. I think this is because we were made in the image of a relational God. A God that is in relationship with all of God’s creation and has connected us to this creation in ways that are beyond our comprehension! With the passing of my brother Charles I’m realizing more than ever that this side of God’s kingdom is a gift. A gift that is shorter for some than others but a gift that is meant to be enjoyed. Don’t forget to go outside and let yourself just “be” in the beauty of everything that God has created around you. In doing so you will feel God’s presence and receive a glimpse into God’s divine plan of joining all things together in love and unity through Christ.
I also want to ask for your continued prayer for Calvary. God is providing new opportunities and amazing relationships, however we will not know which direction to move without your prayer and God’s guidance! We still need intentional prayer regarding the idea of joining a partnership with St. Mark’s and becoming one church with two sites. The idea is exciting as we know this new model could be extremely beneficial to our denomination as a whole. However, we want to follow the will of God, not our own will so please continue to raise this up in prayer and share what the Spirit may be placing on your heart regarding this new opportunity.
I know many of you are on vacations and enjoying your families this summer! I have kept you all in my prayers for safe travel and new discoveries as you find God in all the different facets of your lives.
Thank you for your continued love, support, service and prayers as we continue to discern how God is calling us to serve and love everyone in our community! You have all been a true gift to God’s kingdom!
God’s peace and love,
Mother Mo
